Exploding The Myth—Being Good is NOT Good Enough!

You know you are good at running a floor covering store.  You try to hire good installers, you have great warranties and you honor them, you offer good products.  On top of that, you’re honest with your clients and you never bait-and-switch them (unlike the “Bargain Corral,” discount-pricing sleaze-ball down the street).  And let’s face it: you really care about treating your clients right!  You deserve to be making a lot of money…and if technical expertise, quality workmanship, honesty, and attention to detail were all that was needed to get rich, you’d BE rich.  (And if this was all you needed to get total freedom and walk way power from your business, you’d HAVE total freedom and walk away power.)

DON’T fall for the industry line ‘If you have great products, or great warranties, or great service, people will beat a path to your door.’

…yeah, right.”

This is one of the biggest misconceptions in the floor covering business! In today’s incredibly competitive, hectic world, nobody’s beating a path to anyone’s door!  And in every field, including this one, some of the “best,” most knowledgeable most technically skilled people ARE STARVING TO DEATH.  (And most dealers who are doing well financially are STILL working too many hours, enslaved to their store.  More about that later.)  Anyway, here’s why even “good” flooring dealers are struggling…

Will Struggle And Suffer, Even Go Broke Without A SYSTEM

That Generates A Steady Flow Of New, Good Customers

Yet dealers think that just because they have great skills and great products and great customer service that they will have success. That their store will grow and they will make a lot of money.  That people will beat a path to their door. I call this the “build a better mousetrap” theory, and it’s totally false!
