Greetings Flooring Dealers!

Your sales team should follow up all jobs with not only the In-Home Visit process (60 Day Rapid Launch, modules 4, 5, 6), but also with a hand written thank you card.  When was the last time you got a hand-written thank you card from a business?  It’s not unheard of, but it’s very, very rare.

This is a strategy that can be done in less than one minute per client, but the dividends are huge.  Here are some of the benefits:

  • Totally sets you apart from other dealers
  • Creates client loyalty
  • Makes you the topic of dinner time conversation (whichever spouse gets the card, he/she will most likely tell the other spouse).
  • Increases referrals.

To increase the “WOW” factor, include a $5 gift card for Starbuck’s.

Let’s look at the time and money cost, assuming that your store is doing 100 residential jobs per month and has 3 sales people.

100 x 1 minute = 100 minutes.  That’s 33 minutes per month per sales person.

100 x $6 (cost of the card, postage and $5 Starbuck’s card) = $600/mo or $7,200 per year.

How many EXTRA jobs above and beyond what you already have to pay for this program?  Two?  Three?  Out of 100 jobs per month (1200 per year), you’ll easily get that many more jobs…probably dozens.  Especially if you combine this strategy with my Referral Program.  (60-Day Rapid Launch, module 4.)
