Get referrals from people who get your money

How many business owners do you give money to each and every month?  How about your yard care company, hair dresser, health club owner, doctor, chiropractor, etc.  (See the Connect Campaign module in the Rapid Launch for a list of business categories that will jog your memory.)

Make a list of every one of these people, then call them up and ask for a referral.  Use the following script:

“Hey, John, this is Jim Armstrong.  I’m calling you on a business matter.  Is this a good time to talk for a minute?  Good.  Well, as you know I’ve been a long-time client of Northside Fitness, and what I’m doing at Jimbo’s Floors is looking for ways to add more clients to my business as well.  In order to help us grow we’ve added some bold new programs for our clients, including the Zero Regrets Guarantee, where if a client does not love their new floors we’ll replace them free.  Isn’t that an amazing program?   I want everyone possible to be able to take advantage of the Zero Regrets Guarantee, and all our other World Class services.  The reason I’m calling is because a referral from you would really help.  Who do you know who is in the market for new flooring right now?”

Next, teach your team to do the same thing.  Even administrative staff; reward them with a sales commission when they bring in a new client.  Make it obvious to your team that not only will this help the company, but them personally.
